Can I place it directly against a wall?
A front-facing port provides useful flexibility but does not remove room-boundary effects. Experiment with distance from the rear wall to find the best bass balance.
How far from the wall should I start?
There is no universal measurement. Begin with some free space behind the speaker and adjust in small increments using familiar bass-rich music.
Should I toe the speakers in?
A small amount of toe-in is a useful starting point. Russell K's setup approach has historically suggested around five degrees before adjusting by ear.
How wide is the RED 120?
Approximately 200mm.
How deep is it?
Approximately 190mm.
How tall is it?
The cabinet itself is approximately 860mm high, increasing to around 910mm including the plinth, base and spikes.

Is the RED 120 larger than the RED 100?
It is taller because it is a floorstander, but at only 200mm wide and 190mm deep its footprint is remarkably compact. The RED 100 itself is wider and deeper at approximately 260 x 270mm.
How does the RED 120 compare with the RED 150?
The RED 120 is the smaller and more room-friendly floorstander. The RED 150 is intended for customers wanting greater scale and low-frequency authority from a larger cabinet.
Do I need a subwoofer?
Not necessarily. The RED 120 already provides unusually deep bass for its size. A subwoofer can still be useful where very deep extension, greater low-frequency output or home-cinema performance is required.
